i'm absolutely smitten with the blog young house love.
it's a young couple that work together decorating and remodeling their home in killer style.
anyhoos... they just had a giveaway for this stencil site, royal design studio.
so i hopped on over to check it out...
stenciling is something i've never done before.
nor ever wanted to do.
although, after seeing some of these pictures i'm considering it.
is this not seriously YUMMY?!
do they really turn out this nice?
I have wanted to do this in our hall bathroom for a while. I'm afraid to pull the trigger. Can't wait to see pictures if you take the plunge!

I LOVE the look, but it's a giant pain . . . I tried it in my bathroom and found it kind of impossible to get the stencil to lie flat between the ceiling and the top of the wall. It also takes a long time to get the paint on, because you can only use a little bit, otherwise it bleeds under the stencil. I had better luck doing a stencil border. The all-over patterns require skills that I just do not have!

My daughter did a design like this but smaller for a stage set and she said it was easy and it did look great. Patience is required I'm sure-if you googled how to's you could probably find loads of tips.

I'm think wallpaper would be easier. They have some beautiful ones out there (it's not your grandmas paper) that look very much like the gorgeous one here. I've hung a ton in homes and offices and could definately do that. Stenciling is really hard, especially I'd walls have any texture at all. Flat walls, much easier.

I did some stenciling in my daughter'r room - overall pleased with the results. But, took a very long time to do, and made the misake of drawing my reference line wiht a pencil (could not get it to erase no matter what I did). Also, I think if you have textured walls it would be harder to get stencil to stay put. I would probably just go with wallpaper! michelle
