I'm excited to be closing in on the end of my trip. We finished painting the samples today. Now everything needs to be sprayed, put together, final approval and pricing. I think this piece is my fave.
While waiting for the painters today we ventured off to visit a couple lighting factories.
I'm thinking about doing some lamps. What do you think? Be honest.
These factories were huge and impressive. The machines above are small compared to some they had. Both of these factories do manufacturing for IKEA. Can you tell which part of Mr. Rogers Neighborhood was my favorite as a child?
Another highlight of my day... The weather has cooled off in the mornings and I actually got an 8 mile run in without being miserable. AND, I almost forgot, no gross food!!!
Yeah to no gross food. My only thought on the lamps is quality control. I know you would make some really cool bases. You might just have some kinks to work out with the lamps.

I think lamps, like clocks, are a great idea. They both have a practical purpose, and therefore it is easier to buy them.
You might want to think about having two sets of electrical stuff put into them. The US has what, 110W, and the rest of the world has 220W? And as a member of the rest of the world, I would very much like your art to brighten up my day :-)

I don't have much use for lamps, but then, I don't really "need" the dozen clocks in my house either, but they are FUN~!

Wow, if you could make an adorable lamp that would be suitable for all of us who do close work, like rughookers, who are stuck with the boring OTT lighting, that would be great! If that would be cost prohibitive, what about coming up with something we could stick on them to spice them up? That would be Fun and add some great designs to the little cubbies where we hook.
Glad you got in those miles. I was with you every step.

I think your art would translate quite nicely to lamps........what a fun whimsical lamp it would make............it would quite literally light up our life!
