Get off the Couch!

Spring may not be in the air but it is coming!

OH my it's not hard to tell what time of year it is, you might need sunglasses to see this picture but not because of the sun.  I will be heading to Italy for a training camp--100 kilometers per day for 8 days.  As you can see I have had to spend quite a bit of time on the turbo to get ready for the trip.  It can be tough to keep going when the weather is bad, we woke up to snow again this morning, but sometimes you just have to put your head down and go.  I look forward to warm days and rides with friends this spring.  I will keep posting pics and video from the trip....stay tuned.....Ciao

Another New Beginning

We have officially started what I am calling the Liberty West Cycling Club.  I am very excited to say that on our first club ride we had seven people. We will be having weekly rides with varied skill levels and we have access to great deals on all kinds of cycling clothing, gear and bikes as well through my great friend Greg Cordasco at Liberty Cycle I hope you can join us soon.  Our next ride is on Sunday 11:00 a.m. leaving from the Starbucks/Safeway parking lot on the corner of 162nd Ave. and Fourth Plain.  See you there.  Here are some more pics. from our ride.

KEEPING THE FIRE LIT!

Sometimes its tough to keep going isn't it?  About 2/3 of the way through Sundays race as you can see I was in pain and I had to make a choice-do I keep going or do I give up.  Two things came to mind for me. 1-Why do I want to put myself through this?-Because at the end of the day the accomplishment of finishing is a feeling that we can't get from anything else.  2-I realized that as bad as I was feeling there wasn't anyone else out there that was feeling any better.  Someone once said to me- "The only difference between the guy who wins and the guy who loses is the one who is willing to hurt the most.  I believe that we are all capable of handling a lot more than our bodies try to tell us.  Don't give up in your pursuit to be fit and have fun doing your exercise what ever it may be because in the end it will be the best feeling that helps feed itself.
