After all the climbing the last couple days, we were suppose to have an easy recovery day in the Tuscany Valley, Greve in Chianti. Instead we end up climbing 5000 feet by mile 38. We finish the ride at 55 miles and 6800 feet of climbing and it took 4.5 hours. That was the most painful slow ride I have ever done. 3/4 of the ride was climbing at or above 15% Not to many happy campers but it will give us something to talk about for a while. I ended up sort on pics as you can imagine.
Tired and hungry we finally get to sit down and eat a nice meal of anti pasta, pasta, and grilled meats.
We will ride Sette Ponte, the "seven bridges" in the a.m. and this ride will be fun. A little climbing gets us on a ridge that we get to let em run on a winding road lined with olive groves. Till then!
And on cobbles to boot! Yikes. Sorry to read you took a spill. You will probably recover just in time for the plane ride home!
