Quick stop for a Cafe' before we head to the climb. We rode 45 miles before the 11k climb with 19%grades up the Ghisallo. Tons of history on this climb. I made it to the top within 1 min. of the best climbers in the group...you know...the 6' tall guys that weigh the same as me. Despite still being sore I beat my best time by 6 min. This time we came back down the same way which is tons of fun on the twistys. This next pic is coming back down, it doesnt quite show how steep it is though.
At the top there is a museum inside the church of Madonna that is dedicated to all the greats in cycling that have made history on the Ghisallo.
Ah! finally at the top we stop and eat pranzo outside on a nice warm sunny day.
See you soon, we now head down to Tuscany. We will be stopping on the way down to ride the Carrera, another famous ride. I have a feeling that our trip is going to have record climbing in it. We will log approx. 480 miles in 7 days of rides with approx. 60,000 feet of climbing. Ciao for now.
didn't you ride it last time in your tennis shoes? maybe this ride is your nemesis! glad you made it and you can still ride.
