i can't remember if i've showed you one of my luckiest finds ever? it's practical, heavy duty and it reminds me of my elementary school days. i just love it!
i've been having colossal amounts of fun in my art journal these past few days. wanton doodling. (can i use wanton without it being sexual?) really no rules of composition or making any kind of sense. just play. i'm in a happy place right now.
i got some yummy art journal pages to show you. featuring - pretty much all my favorite colors!
you may notice some artfest swaps hidden here and there.
i keep thinking about what kind of workshop proposals i'm going to send in for artfest. yes, i should be doing more than thinking about them, they're due in about 1.5 weeks! yikes! art journal making and techniques? simple silk screening? more sculpting? help!!!
i really want to do a live painting for a charity. have you ever done this? or seen it done? i attended a vow renewal once where they brought in an artist to paint during the festivities. at the end the painting was for the couple. pretty cool.
i wanted to give you a little sneak peak at our new Allen Designs line we'll be launching in july. this little cutie will soon have a hanger and be an all season ornament. you like?
one thing i've always wanted to participate in is illustration friday. i had a few minutes to spare and thought... why not NOW. it didn't have to be too involved. or too thought out. or even painted or perfect!
alyson b. stanfield of art biz coach had a great post the other day about, something to the effect of- if you say your an artist, or wanna be an artist... then MAKE ART!
a lot of it comes down to that. we can spend so much time and moolah taking all the right workshops, buying the best books, spending endless hours perusing the web all without taking a single step towards actually DOING ART.
just looky at what Julie gifted me!!! when her surprise came in the post my heart just exploded. thank you, thank you, thank you julie! check out more of her cheery art here!
not to rub it in, but i've actually been doubly blessed- i won studio waterstone's giveaway!! woo hoo!! thank you lori!
i'm getting the feeling it's almost time for me to pass on the love and do another giveaway. stay tuned. :)
hi and welcome!!! i'm so glad you're here! my name is michelle. i'm blessed to be a wife (to gary) of 18 years and a mom of two girls; alexis(16) & jess(11). i've been a full time artist for 15 years. i made my start at Portland Sat. Mkt. and art fairs around the country, and then headed into wholesale shows when our oldest began school. i love ART-ing, art journaling, running, cycling and downing junk food!
