love this piece by artist Kathleen Stephenson
the Oregon Potter's Assoc. show was this past weekend.
i've always had a deep love and respect for this area of the arts.
maybe it's because i have taken a few classes and have come to the conclusion that
it's probably better if i just stick with purchasing other people's work!
so, after strolling the show... this lovely by artist Dara Hartman has been added to my cup collection.
there is just something about drinking out of fun cups that makes me so happy.
and somehow, functionality is more justifiable.
i really wanted one of Kim Murton's pieces.
maybe next time!
what's your favorite art form?
for yourself and to collect from others?

I love Mary Naylor's style, Thomas Fedro, and Amanda Hone....I love love your style too! Anything whimsical with loads of bright color!! It's my favorite!! I love colored glass too, and any mug I drink from is whimsical...

How wonderful and how funny! For years I've had a love of cups and usually can only afford one. So I have a mismatched collection of beautiful cups.

Oh and another thing - two really. I THINK you ARE an incredible artist. When I was in art school a sculpted a bust and that top one reminds me of said bust - of course hers is better. I still have a creepy looking bust which weighs a ton, wears a santa hat at Christmas, and sits in my kitchen.

Too funny. I really liked Kim Murton's pieces too and ended up buying one of her salt and pepper sets and a bowl. Very whimsical stuff. Love it!

Over the weekend, my daughter and I visited Laurie Eisenhardt's studio - coincidentally another ceramacist! http://laurieeisenhardt.com/index.html We came home with a piece that we'll cherish forever and are looking forward to collecting more of her work!

I LOVE Joyce Curvins art! Her fish are made from palm tree seed pods, her birds are made of old wood, leather, lint from the dryer, and her dogs and cats are made from cereal boxes, paper and more... all of her art is 95% recycled material!
Check out her website ~
