okay, not really. in between real work at Allen Designs, i'm actually going to have a full day of setting up for my daughter's 16th birthday -DANCE PARTY! i might be able to squeeze in a few hours of painting with a friend if i stay focused this morning. i hope so!
not to worry. i WILL have pictures :)
Artfest pics and the last workshop will have to resume on friday. have a happy day!
my second workshop featured sculpting a doll of sorts and the making of a story box. again, another group of fabulously talented ladies!
the diversity of their dolls and styles were very fun and creative. some even hilarious!
i wish i would have had the time to hear the stories behind each of the story boxes. this little box is so sweet i just love it.
do you not just love these?
not everyone finished their boxes. i now realize that this was quite a large project to undertake in approx. 6 hours. a lot of details. doing it again, i would maybe simplify a few things down. possibly a smaller box or something.
i also wasn't a very good picture taker in this class! i wish i would have gotten pics of everyone with their pieces!!! ugh! next time! :)
***if you were in my class and you're reading this would you do me a favor and put your blog address in the comments and which piece is yours so that my readers can see more of your art? thanks!
they made me look so good! hehe :) but seriously, i love how they each have their own style and use of colors. there are still a few of them missing. there's so much going on that i had a hard time keeping track of who i took a picture of and didn't. so sorry if it was you. :( if it was you... please send me a pic! i'd love to have it.
you can't really tell by the pictures above but, all their journals have the exposed stitching on the spine like my sample here.
i feel like a proud momma looking at these pictures. thank you so much ladies!!! you completely warmed my heart.
this photo is mindy of tim's sally. i'm drooling over her choice of colors!
as i'm gathering pictures i realize i have quite a few to share even on this workshop alone. so bear with me as i split this silkscreen & journal class into two posts.
first off, the women that signed up for this workshop were ALL SO KIND! i was completely nervous. i have serious issues speaking in front of more than 2 people at a time. it makes me want to cry. seriously. but, this group put me quickly at ease with their sweetness.
liz working hard! can't wait to see her finished journal! her silkscreen turned out amazing.
and here are several more yummies from these talented gals.
i'll post their finished journals on tomorrow's post. they all look so great i can't wait to share them with you!
acrylic paints. golden gel medium (for gluing down heavy elements and for sealing parts of the page) some business cards of places my hubs and i went for our 18 year anniversary. a beautifully stitched 'i heart arting' patch by Janne. and lotsa doodles.
just a few more momentos and this here page is done!
hi and welcome!!! i'm so glad you're here! my name is michelle. i'm blessed to be a wife (to gary) of 18 years and a mom of two girls; alexis(16) & jess(11). i've been a full time artist for 15 years. i made my start at Portland Sat. Mkt. and art fairs around the country, and then headed into wholesale shows when our oldest began school. i love ART-ing, art journaling, running, cycling and downing junk food!
