remember my post a few back?
well, right after our little journaling group my mom and i decided we couldn't live without our very own traveling art bags!
behold this RIDICULOUSLY BLUE beauty! very American blue!
at once i used my handy utility knife to remove one of the dividers freeing up a bit more space. then i used Golden Fabric Medium mixed with acrylic paints and just went to town. layer upon layer.
my latest love: Black Cat waterproof india ink, which i used, in addition to a long skinny brush, to add oodles of detail.
still in progress. you can see my mom's in the background, also still in the works.
the nice black one's our friends had would have been so much simpler. but then our creativity wouldn't have been challenged, now would it have!?

These are wonderful, michelle. Exactly what I would do . . .personalize it! I may need to go and look for a traveling art bag now.

oh and do you have one of your new catalogs you could bring? i'd loooooooove to drool over that too! lol! and i'd love to pick your brain about working with das clay. i picked some up last week and found it kind of challenging to work with (keeping it wet, smoothing, etc.). wondering if you could give me any tips. :)

Hi Michelle
The bag looks amazingly FAB! Can I ask if you used gesso before making it arty?
Best wishes and thanks for posting

Michelle, it was so wonderful to meet you at Artfest! I just adore your traveling art bag, and think you should make up a few to sell in your Etsy. {hint hint}
