happy New Year!!
sorry that i'm still posting about Christmas!
i just have a few more things to share and then i'll be onto the New Year!!!
this year we, being my mom, dad, aunt, uncle, cousin and our family, spent Christmas on Mt. Hood in Government Camp. we all spent a night together under one roof, went sledding, played in the snow and truly had a wonderful time.
i was determined to actually MAKE our traditional Christmas morning cinnamon rolls this year instead of buying premade one's from safeway.
it took me three times and two different recipes to make them good enough that my family was willing to give up the store bought rolls for homemade.
my perserverence paid off.
they were YUM, YUM, YUM.
mind you, this picture is missing the, piled high, cream cheese frosting.
here's the final recipe. (make sure to make way more frosting than the recipe calls for)

for the past two years we have done a handmade exchange.
there are only four of us women and we each make something to give the other three.
this year my aunt made pillows, my cuz' made sculpted birds, my mom made flower pins and i made headbands.
i can't tell you how much i'm loving that we do this.
we also do an ornament exchange where we can either make or buy an ornament.
i scored the vintage inspired house ornament my mom made. (sorry auntie for stealing it!)
she used tissue paper for the windows so that it glows when you put a light in the back.
i am thankful.
