I was honored when Deb from Say it With Letters asked me if I'd be interested in being part of a design team project. Of course, not much going on (rofl), I quickly said I'd love to!
This is what she sent me. My first thought was seashell. I'm not much of a beach person so I tried to come up with what else it could possibly be. And a peacock it was.
*i used acrylic paints for the painting
*a Uni-ball Signo pen for the fine white lines
*Derwent Inktense watercolor pencils for the lines around the feathers
**note: if you use mediums that aren't waterproof you'll want to spray them with a Workable Fixative to save yourself a lot of grief
I decided to look up peacock quotes to leave you with. Little did I know that most quotes about peacocks tend to be negative.
Genius and virtue are to be more often found clothed in gray than in peacock bright. -Van Wyck Brook
Remember that the most beautiful things in the world are the most useless; peacocks and lilies, for example. -John Ruskin
May the rest of your week be as colorful as a peacock!

It's beautiful and kudos to you for thinking outside the creative box! I thought "seashell" at first glance also.

I love this peacock. Would you mind if I used it on a book I'm doing on Blurb.com? I would put your details obviously but I don't expect to sell any books as I've already written a few and have only sold one up to now. It would be to illustrate a fairy story called 'The King of the Peacocks'.
